I want to talk today about my favorite warm drink in autumn. The special ingredients that makes it a great autumn drink are honey and cinnamon. Both ingredients have important healthy properties about which I would like to say a few words.
Honey is a natural complex, rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino-acids. Because of these elements, honey makes the metabolism be faster helping the fat melt. Since it is sweet, it can be a great substitute for sugar, but will we need to be mindful about the quantity of honey that we consume because it is still a sweetener,
Cinnamon has the role of maintaining the blood sugar levels and increase glucose maintaining insulin levels, besides many other benefits.
And now for the warm drink, for which you will need only a few ingredients.
1 tbsp. natural honey
1 tsp. powder Ceylon cinnamon
250 ml - 300 ml warm unsweetened almond milk
optional: lemon juice
The water needs to be warm (not boiling hot) becasue thw water needs to be poured over the teaspoon of cinnamon. We need to leave the cinnamon for 10-15 minutes. After this, we add the tablespoon of honey and the lemon juice.
We mix very well until the honey melts into the warm water.
