A few actors are lucky enough to have as fashionable an alter ego as Sarah Jessica Parker. 15 years since Sex and the City ended, Carrie Bradshaw remains one of the most influential TV characters of all time—even for the woman who played her. And for last night’s 8th Annual New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala, Parker took a page straight out of the Bradshaw playbook, accessorizing her sumptuous Zac Posen gown with mismatched heels from her own, eponymous collection. Just as Carrie pulled off the look in the season three “Escape from New York” episode—the one where they take a very memorable trip to Los Angeles—Parker pulled off the trend in dramatic style, exiting her West Village townhouse in billowing hot pink satin.
The citron and fuchsia mules detailed with crystal buckles were the perfect complement to Parker’s gown; gleefully over the top, and with a fairytale quality ideal for an evening dedicated to transformative art, the look was a showstopper that the actress immortalized on Instagram. In a post-event update, Parker sang the designer’s praises, while thanking everyone involved in the charity event’s success. “One of those nights so magical you need proof it really happened,” she wrote. Thankfully, social media memories last forever, and Parker provided plenty of close-ups of the epic dress and mismatched heels to remember them by.
