Lady Gaga is a true style chameleon. Over the years, she has changed up her look at a rapid-fire pace.
She emerged in New York City throwing back to her former self, wearing seriously death-defying shoes that only old-school Gaga could pull off. The risqué footwear in question? Leather boots with 10-inch platforms—stilts, really—that she balanced upon with complete ease. It recalled her “Fame Monster” era, where the wackier the fashion was, the better she looked (though she has always favored extreme platforms, especially when performing on stage). To counteract the theatrical shoes, Gaga opted for a more wearable ensemble, wearing a gold pleated top underneath a tasteful black jumpsuit by Alberta Ferretti. In her hand, she carried her favorite Celine top-handle bag, naturally. Her latest look goes to show that, as much as one’s sense of style evolves, a glimmer of that former self can always resurface. Plus, if you possess the unique talent of being able to walk in dangerous footwear, you have to keep that practice up: something tells me we won’t be seeing her in sneakers anytime soon.
